Yan Stricker
Smooth a Surface
+ Max Cooper remix

!Organism label boss Yan Stricker steps up for the imprints latest release, delivering 3 cuts of emotive techno backed with a stunning remix from techno stalwart Max Cooper...

Switzerland based !Organism continue their slow but steady campaign with the sixth release from this promising and forward thinking label. This time it's the turn of label boss Yan Stricker to showcase his production talents with a brand new EP of diverse and exciting techno.

Stricker has been a regular fixture on the Swiss electronic music scene since the late nineties working as a DJ and Promoter and latterly as a producer. His passion for techno, from the taut and tight sounds of minimal to the electro influenced floorshakers has brought him recognition
and residencies and guest spots at some of the country's most influential events. In 2008 Stricker launched the !Organism imprint to give an outlet not only for his own music but for the sounds of up and coming talented artist. The label has built a strong following in its short history, a following that is certain to be extended with this latest killer release.

The EP opens up with Stricker's original of 'Smooth a Surface', a deep and darkly melodic slice of late night techno that exudes atmosphere from the opening bars. Insistent bass and tight percussion create a framework for the haunting synth lines and provide a superb dark edged piece of electronica.

Next up we have the much lauded Max Cooper who takes time out from his recording with labels such as Traum and Veryverywrongindeed to deliver a brilliant piece of edgy syncopated techno that uses stuttering percussion and a brilliant arrangement to deliver a killer remix.

The EP closes with two further original tracks from Stricker, the wonderfully hypnotic 'The Sun King' which takes you on a melodic and melancholic journey to the center of entrancing yet left of center techno and 'Fluffy Fly', a stripped and brooding cut that makes the most of a simple arpegiated top line and provides a perfect closer to this package.

!Organism are a label who have certainly set themselves a high standard for quality and this latest release from the man at the heart of the matter delivers in every way...
